CKCTC AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 7-12.
Introduced in April 2002, the program provides a safe, positive environment and a fun place for students to go during after school hours. The program is held at the Claysburg Senior Center four days a week Monday through Thursday.
1. Offer opportunities to wind down after the school day, relax, and have fun with friends.
2. Improve study skills and provide help with homework.
3. Develop skills in cooking, sports and games, crafts, problem solving and getting along with others.
4. Provide delicious, healthy snacks, (many of which are made by students themselves as they practice kitchen skills.
5. Promote positive attitudes and values.
6. Involve community members in raising students' awareness of careers, hobbies, tradition, cultural heritage and other possibilities.
